It was my role to develop the visual brand guidelines — including shaping the illustration style and training new team members on how to execute it. Vector illustration is at the heart of Nugget’s visual system. The style needed to be polished, modern, and flexible enough to adapt to different aesthetics for new color releases, while remaining recognizable from a brand perspective.&nbsp;Nugget designs are characterized by rounded corners and a sense of dynamism. Builds are represented in perspectives that are clear and true-to-life, and illustrations are built primarily with standard vector shapes with subtle imperfections. The shape language had to have charm and character, but be quick for new hires to pick up. For over 5 years I’ve worked on illustrations for Nugget’s website, social channels, employee apparel, printed collateral, paid ads, email newsletter and more. In addition, I’ve worked with our Email Marketing Manager to design A/B tests, upload the designs to Klaviyo, and review all email graphics created by GIA teammates prior to publication. by the sand and the sea, these double-brushed neutrals are where effortless design meets playtime.”Nugget’s Coastal Collection launched in March of 2023, featuring two new colors: Surfside and Dunebuggy! Below are a handful of designs I contributed for this campaign. Coastal Logos Heading into this release, the Creative Services team knew we’d need to create stamp-style emblems for use in emails, in paid ads, and on top of photography. The brief called for Nuggety twists on popular patterns, which led to a wiggly, wobbly spin on rainbow stripes and basketweave. I pitched the initial wiggle art and concepts, which Alicia then interpreted into the final colorways and tech packs. On it’s front, the logo wraps around the Chunk’s iconic hoop shape, a bouncy statement to pair with the playful angle and arc of Nugget’s logo. On the back, we inverted the design to refer to the “pucks” pieces found inside. Our ultimate goal was to create a perfect partner for the original Nugget box. I then collaborated with our Marketing and Customer experience teams on 5x7” informational insert cards; First a Chunk-specific card, then a combined products card. I designed and illustrated an event poster and album sleeve based on my personal interpretation of the album.The concept is centered around the juxtaposition of The Scary Jokes' sugary-sweet synth-pop sound with lyrics that tell the story of misplaced optimism in a damaging and tumultuous relationship.&nbsp; Cover Art Vector art created in Adobe Illustrator, utilizing parody to illustrate the album's themes in a way that felt playful and tongue-in-cheek. The main challenge was to visually represent the music without any lyrical references, translating my interpretation into a visual system. Biosphere's songs feature nature sounds such as babbling brooks and songbirds, and are based around a theme of innocent, nostalgic romance.
